OUR STAFF

Each summer, some of the best young adults are hired to bring CITYCAMP to life. Our counsellors are handpicked for their trustworthy character and ability with children.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE

For your convenience, Before and After Care is available at all of our sites. Before Care operates from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and After Care from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Simply log in to your online account to add this service.

CHECK-IN AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES

Guest arrival is between 8:30 & 8:45 a.m. each day. On the first day, we ask parents/caregivers to come into the facility to check-in their child. Staff will direct you to your child’s cabin group where you can meet their counsellors for the week. For the remainder of the week, you are free to use curbside drop-off.

Guests arriving after 9 a.m. must be brought to the CITYCAMP Office to sign them in. If a guest has not arrived by 9.30 a.m., a CITYCAMP staff will call home to confirm their absence.

Pick-up is from 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. Photo ID is required when picking up your child. Please ensure you or those you have authorized to pick-up have photo ID ready.

If your child needs to be picked up early, please notify the CITYCAMP Office in advance and we will have your child ready to go at the entrance.

LATE PICK-UP FEES

If you will be unavoidably late picking up your child, please call the CITYCAMP Office. If your child is picked up after 6:00 p.m., there is a late fee of $5 for the first 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, there will an additional charge of $1/minute.

OPENING SHOW & FRIDAY FINALE

On Monday morning, we invite parents to stay for a short opening day program from 8:45 - 9:00 a.m. There will be a short video, you’ll meet all the staff, and learn a little bit more about what to expect for the week.

On Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. we invite all parents back for our Friday Finale presentation where we will have a video recap of the week, some campfire song favourites, and even short performances from all our cabin groups.

COMMUNICATION

If you have anything you wish to discuss with the Leadership at CITYCAMP, contact us directly at citycamp@muskokawoods.com, or come to the camp office. We will follow up with you personally by the end of the day. If you are calling outside camp hours, please leave a detailed message and we will return your call as quickly as possible.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Spare change of clothes (recommended for Explorers)
  • Rain gear if rain is forecasted - we run rain or shine
  • Nut-Free Lunch with snacks
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Closed toe shoes for athletics programs
  • Socks for inflatables program

It is recommended that all clothing be labeled with your child’s name in permanent/waterproof ink to ensure their return home.

LUNCHES

Guests are required to bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks each day (unless you have purchased one of the optional lunch programs). CITYCAMP operates as a NUT SAFE environment. We ask that you do not send your child with any products that may contain nuts. We also ask that, should your child eat peanut butter or nuts for breakfast, please be sure to wash your child’s hands before coming to camp. Please note: we operate in public facilities. As a result, it’s difficult for us to control and enforce a nut-free facility

MEDICATION

If your child brings medication to CITYCAMP, please observe the following:

  • Medication should be brought in the original bottle or box.

  • Please carefully detail the schedule for medication and send it with your child.

  • All guests with medication are instructed to hand it in to the CITYCAMP Office at the beginning of each day. It will be locked up and dispensed at the requested time.

  • If your child is too ill to participate, or is exhibiting contagious symptoms, a parent or guardian will be contacted.

If your child requires an Epi-Pen, you must notify the Camp Director and Leadership Team before CITYCAMP begins. Children who require an Epi-Pen for an allergic reaction must carry it with them at all times. All staff members are trained on how to use an Epi-Pen and hold a current First Aid certificate/CPR.

FUN PACK

Brand new for 2018 is our improved Fun Pack! Included is a drawstring backpack with personalized label and passport pouch; non-breakable BPA free water bottle, and redesigned CITYCAMP baseball cap. 

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO CAMP

Valuables and much-loved items should not come to CITYCAMP as they may get dirty, wet, damaged or lost. We request that guests leave their handheld video games, smart phones and iPods at home.

WACKY WEDNESDAYS

Every Wednesday, we add a bit of “sizzle” to our week. We encourage all staff and guests to dress up based on our Wacky Wednesday theme. Our themes for this summer are as follows:

CABIN CHAT

Counsellors create a safe space for guests to listen, laugh and share on topics like personal values, character formation and Christian beliefs. Each Cabin Chat is different, with crafts, skits and active games that relate to the character value of the day.

GUEST TAKE HOMES

Every guest will receive a CITYCAMP T-shirt, passport and cabin photo each week.

CAMP STORE

Each day, guests will have the opportunity to visit the camp store where they can buy tasty treats, a drink or some awesome Muskoka Woods swag. If this is something you would like your child to enjoy, simply add money to your child’s camp store account via their online registration profile

CANCELLATION POLICY

For cancellations made prior to May 1st , 50% of the total fees are non-refundable. After May 1st, the full registration fee is non-refundable unless a medical certificate accompanies the request. There is no adjustment in fee when a guest arrives late or leaves early. Substitution of another guest will not be permitted under any circumstances. This policy includes cancellations as a result of commitments and opportunities (i.e. sports tournaments, tryouts, travelling, summer school, etc.).
