FOR TEACHERS

The Outdoor Recreation Program at Muskoka Woods is a recreationally based program that emphasizes an active healthy lifestyle and focuses on the development of character and potential. Students have the opportunity to participate in activities not normally offered at their schools. Muskoka Woods has 2 ropes courses, an indoor climbing wall, a zipline, mountain biking trails, archery, skateboarding and many other unique and exciting activities. The winter is open to grades 6-12 and spring year end trips are for grades 6-8, while our fall is busy with grade 9 orientations.

At MW we believe it is not essential to be excellent at a sport, but promote an active healthy lifestyle through participation. We want students to try their best. Therefore, we desire to see each student actively participate in each activity. The most common reason for non-participation in an activity is “Fear-of Failure.” We endeavor to create an atmosphere of "positive encouragement" where students can try a new activity in a safe, caring environment and have some success. We do not tolerate put downs or bullying. These issues are addressed immediately.
This is your class trip, and we at Muskoka Woods want to help make it the best trip possible. It is our job to create an environment that is supportive and encouraging in order to maximize each student’s recreation experience.

Muskoka Woods offers quality instruction in unique activities. A class trip to Muskoka Wood can provide students opportunities to develop new friendship, work together as a team and the chance for students and teachers to interact in a recreational and fun experience.
